Mandeep Jassal is a fully accredited Cognitive and Behavioral Therapist (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner from the UK.
She started off her career in the field of mental health at the age of 17, when she volunteered at a day service for adults with learning disabilities including Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Asperger’s syndrome, and autism.
Mandeep qualified from the University of Hertfordshire with a BSc as a Mental Health Nurse. She worked within the National Health Service (NHS) and private sector in the UK including experience at an 18-bedded acute psychiatric unit and a 20-bedded care home. The care home involved working with patients who had various types of dementia, predominantly Alzheimer’s disease.
Seeking to develop further her interests and knowledge in the psychotherapy field, Mandeep qualified with a Master’s degree from The University of Hertfordshire. She continued her on-going professional development, by completing a 3-part course in EMDR, delivered by the renowned psychotherapist Sandi Richman. Additionally, Mandeep is trained in Gottman part 1 of 3 to support couples with marriage issues.
Mandeep worked in the private healthcare setting for over 15 years, including the prestigious Priory Hospital where she treated clients with a multitude of diagnoses, but primarily clients who had depression and anxiety based disorders. Mandeep has run her own private practice HOPE Therapy [Hold on Pain Ends] where she saw clients on a 1:1 basis for similar issues.
Mandeep has also been a speaker and writer for a range of media organizations including Gulf News, The National, Harpers Bazaar Arabia, Dubai Eye radio show, and the BBC Asian Network. She currently works at The Priory Wellbeing Centre, based in Dubai Healthcare City and is licensed with both Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) and the Community Development Authority (CDA).
