Call for Papers

It is with great pleasure that we are contacting you today to invite you to present at our upcoming 4th Middle East Psychological Association Conference and Expo which will take place in Kuwait, March 12-14, 2020. The 2020 conference and expo aim to raise awareness and further destigmatize the perception of the mental health field within the Middle East region. The conference will allow participants the opportunity to collaborate with numerous professionals and colleagues in addition to providing updates on current topics, trends, theories, techniques, products, and research within the field.

This conference will bring international experts and a very diverse audience who will be eager to receive educational information, as well as techniques and latest findings that will ultimately enhance their day-to-day life whether in their homes, educational career, workplace, or within their therapeutic practices.

You may submit papers proposals for the following different categories:

Professional Sessions

Submissions for this category will only be presented to the audience registered under the “Professional” track (professional practitioners) ONLY. Content should be based but not limited to techniques, up-to-date resources, updated assessment tools, therapeutic interventions, etc. Presentations are all targeted to be for 50 minutes, leaving 10 minutes for the audience to ask questions or discuss particular points.
Submissions in Arabic and English will be accepted, please keep in mind that simultaneous translation between Arabic and English will be available.

Students Sessions

Submissions for this category will be presented mainly to the audience registered under the “Student” track and will also be open to those registered under the professional track as well. Content should be based on educational information related to the latest findings and techniques useful for students in the field to learn more about the different areas or specialties and resources/techniques available within the field of Psychology. Presentations are all targeted to be for 50 minutes, leaving 10 minutes for the audience to ask questions or discuss particular points.
Submissions in Arabic and English will be accepted, please keep in mind that simultaneous translation between Arabic and English will be available.

Educational Sessions

Submissions for this category will be presented mainly to the audience registered under the “General Community” track and will be open to professionals and students as well. Content should be based on providing the audience (i.e. parents, caretakers, professionals in other fields not related to mental health, etc.) knowledge, techniques, up-to-date resources, and skills to be applied by the attendees. Presentations are all targeted to be for 50 minutes, leaving 10 minutes for the audience to ask questions or discuss particular points.
Submissions in Arabic and English will be accepted, please keep in mind that simultaneous translation between Arabic and English will be available.

Panel Discussion Sessions

Submissions for this category will be presented to all conference attendees. Content should be based on a popular topic of interest and expertise, to stimulate frequent audience participation and expression of concerns with possible best practice solutions.
Panel discussions are targeted to be 90 minutes long. These sessions are designed to include a maximum of 5 panelists with 1 moderator. Moderators will be selected by the conference committee.
Please submit your topic of interest/expertise to be considered for this category.
Please keep in mind that submissions for Panel Discussions will be accepted in English only. All panel discussion sessions will be conducted in English and simultaneous Arabic translation will be provided.

Positive Psychology

This year we are offering a dedicated track for Positive Psychology as it is our Division 1. Submissions for this category can be presented to Professionals Only, Professionals and Students Only, or open to Professionals, Students and the General Community (please specify). Content should be based on a scientific topic of interest and expertise.
Presentations are all targeted to be for 50 minutes, leaving 10 minutes for the audience to ask questions or discuss particular points.
Submissions in Arabic and English will be accepted, please keep in mind that simultaneous translation between Arabic and English will be available.

Poster Presentations

Submissions for this category will be for presentations available to the entire audience registered for the conference. Content should be based on conducted research within the field of psychology or any other mental health related area. Authors should cover research interest, findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Presentations can be for 15-20 minutes plus 10 minutes for Q & A. Posters will be an exhibit by the exhibitor’s hall throughout the conference time.

Submissions in Arabic and English will be accepted.

Accepted authors will be provided with a complimentary conference and expo registration ticket. Travel and accommodation will be at own cost. However, the MEPA conference committee will provide assistance in selecting the best travel options.

Papers submission deadline is November 10, 2019.

Accepted authors will be notified by or before: December 10, 2019.
