Dr. D’Elia holds a PhD in Psychology from Alliant University in San Diego, California and is currently a senior faculty member at Northcentral University, Arizona, previously serving as Curriculum and Program Design Director there. A student of Carl Rogers and Albert Ellis, she is currently a member of the International Psychosocial Oncology Society (IPOS) and holds certificates in palliative care.
Dr. D’Elia has served as a head psychologist at the Middle Georgia Psychoeducational Center, worked on inpatient psychiatric units, and developed and administered prison reform projects in the Middle East. Her most recent experience and current interest are in supporting individuals diagnosed with a terminal illness and their families. Palliative care, anticipatory grief, and the grieving process are her current focus, with a special focus on the cultural aspects of these processes in the Middle East.
